Rising to 4,566 meters, Mount Meru is Tanzania’s second-highest peak and one of Africa’s most rewarding trekking experiences. Located within Arusha National Park, this scenic mountain offers a quieter alternative to Mount Kilimanjaro while delivering breathtaking landscapes, rich wildlife encounters, and dramatic volcanic formations. The trek takes you through lush rainforests, open grasslands, and alpine deserts, with opportunities to spot giraffes, buffaloes, and colobus monkeys along the way. The highlight is reaching Socialist Peak at sunrise, where climbers are rewarded with spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding plains. - Drive from Arusha to Momella Gate (Arusha National Park)
- Begin trek through forest trails with a ranger escort
